Dragon USA Exclusive About the EA-18G Growler The U.S. Navy’s and USMC’s aging EA-6B Prowler has now entered its fourth decade of service, so it was necessary to find a replacement airborne electronic warfare aircraft. The solution was to use the F/A-18 F Super Hornet platform. Dubbed the EA-18G Growler, this two-seater aircraft is fitted with the same AN/ALQ-99 tactical jamming system pods as the Prowler, and is scheduled to be ready for service in 2008.
