“Die Erza"hlungdes Schwarzen Ritters” is a widely acclaimed comic book series, and it is considered to be the best work from the renowned comic artist, Motofumi Kobayashi. At the beginning the story is set on the Eastern Front in the fall of 1943. It portrays the main character, Oberleutnant Ernst von Bauer, and his Wehrmacht unit known as the 8th Tank Company, a formation that is also called “Black Knight”.

Later, in the fall of 1944, Oblt. Ernst von Bauer entered the army headquarters. Subsequently he was ordered by his father, General Bauer, to return to the army HQ’s tank regiment. At that time, 3rd Platoon “Gelbe” was organized with five StuG.III Ausf.G tank destroyers and it performed well as the neo “Black Knight”.

The StuG.III Ausf.G appears in the middle of this story, and it fights alongside Panther G. This vehicle of 3rd Platoon “Gelbe” is now represented as a 1/35 scale plastic model kit. The form of the armored fighting vehicle is accurately detailed, including the characteristic Saukopf cast mantlet. The Schurzen are made of metal parts, and photo etched parts are provided for some small details too. The Black Knight’s emblems are accurately reproduced by suitable decals, with vehicle identification numbers offered for all five vehicles found in Platoon “Gelbe”. Two Black Knight figures are also included as bonus accessories.
