This is the primary infantry fighting vehicle variant of the 8x8 family used by the PLA in China. It is armed with a 30mm cannon and coaxial machine gun in a two-man turret, with HJ-73 anti-tank missiles also mounted on either side. The IFV variant operates with a crew of three and it can accommodate seven troops in the rear compartment. As well as achieving speeds of 100km/h on roads, the 21-ton vehicle can swim in water.
